Registration and Tuition
Enrollment Proceedure | First Week At School | After School Hours
A $75.00 annual non-refundable registration fee is payable when applying for admission and on your child's anniversary date. This will ensure your child's place on our waiting list. Once a space becomes available you will notified by a telephone call or letter. Please take note that the longest we will hold your child's space is one week from the original date of commencement.
Tuition is due every Monday. If tuition is not paid by Monday a late fee of $25.00 will be applied. There is a $25.00 fee for returned checks. If a check returns on two different times then tuition will only be accepted if paid by cash or money order. No credit is given for holidays, vacations, teacher preparation days, or any absence for any reason.
Tuition fees are based on operating the program at full enrollment on a nonprofit basis. When a child withdraws from the center, the cost to operate the program remains the same. Should a family be forced to withdraw from the center due to severe illness, a move related to employment, or other serious circumstances, a two(2) week prior notice is due upon the child's withdrawal along with two week's tuition.
Periodic increase in tuition will be announced one month before their effective date.
There is a five percent reduction in tuition for the second child from the same family if enrolled simultaneously. The reduction does not apply to special rates.
No vacation week is given. No credit is given for any days of absence.
Tours are conducted for prospective parents and visitors on a regular basis. This presentation is intended to give adults an overview of the philosophy, program, teaching methods, and physical layout. You may pick up a brochure and ask questions at this time.
If you decide to register your child, you need to complete a registration packet, including the physician's form required by the State of California. A non-refundable registration fee must accompany the forms. Upon receipt of the complete registration packet, your child will be considered for admission.
If your child was on the waiting list and a space becomes available, we will notify you.
When a child is accepted into the program, parents may come and see the program at any convenient time.
All children are required to bring an emergency pack "comfort kit" made up of contents such as: extra bottle, sippie cup, special snack, family photo, favorite doll/stuffed animal (or other object). It is the parent's responsibility to update these packets. Any kits unclaimed more than one week after disenrollment will become property of the center.
We try to gradually introduce new children to the program so that each one gets the attention he/she needs to become comfortable at SandCastles. We require that parents plan to spend the time necessary in the first few days with their child to help with the transition into the school. This often requires arranging in advance to take some time off from work. Both parents may participate in this process. Also as part of this connection from home to school we ask that children come to SandCastles with a photo of themselves (to be used in their file), a photo of their family and loved ones, a lovely (blanket) or favorite object for nap time, extra clothes for messes and "accidents", and diapers, bottles, wipes, etc. Please refer to the list of "Items to bring" for your child's first day at school in the enrollment packet.
SandCastles is open from 6:30am to 6:30pm. Please make arrangements to pick up your child on time. There will be a $2.00 fee per minute for each child not picked up by 6:30pm. Time is determined by the school's clock. Please inform us by telephone if you anticipate being late. The Sheriff Department and Children's Protective Services will be contacted for children at the center one hour after closing time. The late pick up fee is due immediately and paid to the staff as partial compensation for their inconvenience. Because the center has no provision for care after 6:30pm consistent lateness will be cause to ask you to withdraw your child from the center.
